Your Southaven Orthodontist

Dr. Richard Williams was born in Jackson, TN and grew up in Savannah, TN. From a young age, Dr. Williams was inspired by his family dentist and orthodontist.

After experiencing his own smile transformation, he developed a passion for helping others do the same. Being able to help others increase their self-confidence while building lasting relationships is an honor he cherishes.

In September of 1985, Dr. Williams opened his practice to give patients in the DeSoto County area healthy, beautiful smiles. For more than 30 years, Dr. Williams has provided high-quality orthodontic care to patients of all ages.

Dr. Williams and his family live in Nesbit and have built many meaningful relationships throughout their time together.

I love getting to know my patients during an important, often pivotal, time in their lives, and watching them mature from children to young adults with healthy, awesome smiles.

Since orthodontic transformations happen over time, I am allowed to develop real relationships with my patients, getting to know their fascinating, unique personalities.

I love watching their self-confidence grow, along with how they feel about the world.

They walk taller and straighter, they’re more inclined to initiate a conversation, and they smile faster and easier, all because they feel better about their appearance. It’s humbling to be a part of making that happen.

-Dr. Nathan Hamman

Southaven Braces

Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. The metal or ceramic brackets, which are connected to by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics, are attached to your teeth. Regular adjustments with our doctors will help these parts work together to gently apply pressure to your teeth. This pressure will gradually move your teeth into the desired position.

Southaven braces from Williams & Hamman Orthodontics are a great choice to get a correction that looks great for both simple or complex teeth issues. Southaven braces are also a cost-effective option for patients on a budget. Plus, since they sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options might, overall treatment time can be slightly reduced. Braces also don’t require some of the more complicated technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can.

Southaven Invisalign

Invisalign is an incredibly popular option for both patients and orthodontists and is currently the top alternative to traditional braces. The Southaven Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move the teeth into alignment instead of brackets and bands.

Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and designed to fit snugly over the patient’s teeth. The trays are virtually invisible and are usually switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. This keeps the teeth moving in the right direction! If you don’t wear your aligners as directed you may see unwanted results such as slower treatment or a lack of results altogether. Aligners must be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment for them to do their job.

A free consultation with Williams & Hamman Orthodontics will be able to help determine your eligibility for Invisalign. Invisalign is at its most effective when used to correct many of the most common orthodontic issues, and may not be the best option for patients with especially complex cases.

Braces and Invisalign: find the right treatment for your smile

Our skilled doctors and staff excel at providing customized treatment plans for each patient we see. When you visit our office for a complimentary consultation, you’ll find that we focus on your particular orthodontic needs, as well as your specific tooth shape, the movement of your lips, and the shape of your face. Using these as the basis for treatment will result in a beautifully aligned smile that’s just right for your face!
